Wild Roots in the Park Accessibility Statement
Saratoga Wild Roots & Friends of Fort Hardy Park welcome people of all abilities. While we are working to upgrade facilities to current ADA standards, the information below outlines park surfaces and current amenities so you know what to expect. These programs take place outdoors in a natural park setting. While we may not be able to accommodate every need, we are committed to accommodating what we can. Please find our contact information below.
Terrain & Mobility
The park includes mowed grass, dirt, loose gravel, roots, and pine needles. Terrain is generally flat with some uneven areas. Distance from parking to event areas is no more than 80 yards over natural ground. Mobility devices suited for outdoor use (such as rugged wheelchairs or walkers) are recommended.
Movement During Programs
This is an interactive, guided experience. Some programs include short tours of the park, and participants will be on the move.
Seating
Limited seating is available in the form of benches and picnic tables.
Audio & Communication
Programs are led by a speaker in an outdoor environment, typically about 15–20 feet away. As the group moves, visibility of the speaker’s face may vary. American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation is not currently provided.
Hands-On Participation
Guests will have opportunities to engage directly with plants and materials, including close-up viewing and hands-on learning.
Food & Allergens
Some programs may include tasting or exposure to natural materials. Please be aware of any personal allergies and plan accordingly.
Restrooms & Parking
Parking is available on-site on grass and gravel areas. An accessible restroom that’s ADA compliant is located by the gazebo.
We are committed to improving accessibility and welcome your feedback. If you have specific needs or questions, please email friendsofforthardy@gmail.com and a member of our team will respond.
Thank you for utilizing Fort Hardy Park!
