Build Foraged Holiday Centerpieces (Registration Required, All Ages)
Bring a little of Fort Hardy Park home this winter! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll make a winter-themed holiday centerpiece with pinecone trees and other materials freshly foraged from the park. It suits any winter celebration and looks great on the table from the first snowfall to the last.

Gather around the campfire for Starlight in the Park, a free, family-friendly holiday event.
Hosted by the Friends of Fort Hardy Park in partnership with the Village of Schuylerville, this yearly event will also honor our fourth annual “Schuylerville Star.” This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the Schuylerville community.
Foraged Grapevine Wreath Workshop (Registration Required, All Ages)
Create a handmade grapevine wreath using foraged natural materials while learning sustainable harvesting practices in this hands-on fall workshop.
Monday Melt Yoga (Registration Required)
Take a break, breathe deeply, and enjoy a gentle yoga class overlooking the Hudson River with certified instructor Lori Schultz of Loretta’s Tomes & Tealeaves. This all-abilities class welcomes participants of all experience levels, with 100% of suggested donations benefiting Friends of Fort Hardy Park. Space is limited, so registration is required.

Friends of Fort Hardy Park BBQ Fundraiser
Join us for a sweet and smoky BBQ fundraiser to support Friends of Fort Hardy Park, featuring food by Kaleidoscope Cafe! Pre-order by June 13 and pick up your meal on Sunday, June 29, 11 AM–2 PM by the gazebo at Fort Hardy Park. Brisket, pulled pork, vegetarian options will be available—and 100% of profits go right back into improving the park. Order form coming soon—stay tuned!

Volunteer Park Day at the “Field of Grounded Arms” Fort Hardy Park, Schuylerville, NY

Help us beautify the park for summer and walk in the footsteps where the Victory at Saratoga was secured! The “Field of Grounded Arms” is where British regulars (literally) laid down their muskets as part of General Burgoyne’s agreement to surrender to General Gates’ American forces. Volunteers will assist with winter debris pickup. Please bring work gloves, sturdy shoes, and a water bottle.
Meeting Place: Volunteers should report to the rear parking area of the Champlain Canal Region Gateway Visitors Center between 8:45 am and 9:00 am for registration and instructions
Accessibility & Site Significance
Fort Hardy has accessible parking and bathrooms. It adjoins the Champlain Canal Region Gateway Visitors Center, the future home of the “America’s Turning Point Heritage Center” under development. Interpretations there and outside the building will bring the “Field of Grounded Arms” to life along with orienting visitors to the elements of the siege that occurred after the Battles of Saratoga leading to this first-ever surrender of a British Army in world history.
Creatures of the Night: A Wild After-Dark Adventure
Join Friends of Fort Hardy Park and Wild for Life Inc. Rescue and Rehabilitation for Creatures of the Night: A Wild After-Dark Adventure! on March 29 in Schuylerville, NY! Experience live wildlife, including an opossum release, and learn about owls, bats, and other nocturnal creatures in this interactive, family-friendly event.

This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding dedication to the Schuylerville community.
Limited numbers of our 2024 edition Friends of Fort Hardy Park ornaments will be on sale at the event for $5.00 each. You can also buy one online now (shipping & taxes not included). All profits go directly to funding improvements in Fort Hardy Park.
Before night settles in, St. Nicholas plans on stopping by for the gazebo’s holiday lighting ceremony.

Saratoga Siege Weekend
Hosted by Battles of Saratoga 250, this multi-site event throughout Schuylerville on NYS Path Through History weekend features living historians who will deliver family fun activities for the whole family.
Friends of Fort Hardy Park will have a tent set up behind the visitor's center in Fort Hardy Park selling apples & cider (from our friends at Saratoga Apple), baked goods, hot cocoa & more. Please stop by to see us!
2nd Annual Schuylerville Scarecrow Stroll
The 2nd annual Schuylerville Scarecrow Stroll is an event that involves residents, businesses, and organizations displaying scarecrows in front of their homes and businesses. The event raises awareness for a local organizations, such as the Friends of Fort Hardy Park.
FREE Mini Bale Maze
A mini bale maze for you and your little ones has been set up by Friends of Fort Hardy Park by the gazebo in Fort Hardy Park. This maze is FREE for all to enjoy through Halloween!
